Paua is a wonderful and colorful dish originating from New Zealand. Paua is a simple combination consisting of three large edible snail species. The snails used in Paua are collected commercially yet they have a set of semi-strict legal limits. The non-edible shells included in the dish are also used and customizable in jewelry.
Pavlova is a special and delicate dessert, and was specially crafted first in New Zealand! A seemingly healthy alternative to the countless other desserts originating from around the world. Pavlova contains a creamy meringue base and is topped with various healthy and tasty fruit selections. Common fruits accompanied by this dish are mostly strawberries and blueberries.
Hangi is a specially cooked dish that requires a certain method: the use of an underground oven. To basically explain. Hangi’s specific way of cooking includes digging a pit into the ground, placing and heating stones into the pit, and then finally placing baskets of food above the stones to successfully cook. This process is finished off by covering up the pit in the ground for several hours before uncovering the pit again and retrieving the cooked baskets of food. Hangi is usually a food that is served for special occasions.
